This Certificate Course is not currently running and we are not taking applications at present.
The one-year Certificate offers 150 CPD training hours for people who would like to expand their creativity and enliven their practice through psychodrama theory and practice and creative action methods.
It is suitable for counsellors, psychotherapists and those who have some experience of working with individuals or groups in a way which enhances personal development or promotes learning, such as educators, health professionals, social workers, and community workers.
This course is accredited by the British Psychodrama Association.
This course, created by the trainers of Psychodrama Scotland builds on the foundations laid by Dr. J. L. and Zerka Moreno. Working through your own material, gaining insight and sensitivity, you will come to appreciate the healing processes inherent in psychodrama.
The course is comprised of six face-to-face workshops in Glasgow, two workshops online and one residential weekend. You must attend 90% of the course in order to complete the certificate.
Each workshop will typically include a mix of theory, experiential learning and processing. Students on this course will have opportunities to experience a range of roles including protagonist, auxiliary, double and group member. You will become familiar with a range of techniques including role reversal, doubling, mirror, chair work and processing. There will be opportunities for you to explore ways of working one to one as well as in groups.
You need to have some experience of psychodrama therapy or training to be eligible. See Psychodrama Training Weekends and Experiential Weekends for further details.
The Certificate in Creative Action Methods does not qualify you to practice as a psychodrama psychotherapist.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Psychodrama Scotland.
This provides the foundation year for those who are interested in training towards a qualification in Psychodrama Psychotherapy, providing the equivalent of the first year of the Advanced Diploma in Psychodrama Psychotherapy.
Whilst Psychodrama Scotland do not currently offer the Advanced Diploma, we will be working toward this in the future. Once an Advanced Diploma is offered by Psychodrama Scotland, those who have completed the Certificate may be able to go directly into the 2nd year of this training. There will also be opportunities to apply to another BPA accredited Diploma training course, which can be discussed further if you are interested in this.
