Don’t Push the River
Sometimes, the river of life flows merrily along, and we can sit
back and enjoy the ride. Other times, we can suddenly find
ourselves pushing against the current and are washed into an
unexpected stream. Here, we can keep trying to push against
the flow, or choose to let go and see where the current takes
us.
This experiential workshop offers the group an opportunity
to explore the theme of the river of life. Using this metaphor to
take a dip into the methods of psychodrama and creative
action, the group will warm up to the theme of the landscape
of the river. We will exolore the obstacles we may meet along
the way and what keeps us holding on, as well as what can
happen when we let go and decide not to push the river.
This workshop will be predominately experiential, giving
participants an opportunity to learn to use the method for
themselves.
Who is it for?
This workshop is for anyone who would like to expand their
creativity, learn more about themselves, and experience the
power and tun or oschodrama. It may be of particular
interest to counselors and psychotherapists who would like
to enliven their practice through psychodrama and creative
action methods theory and practice. And those who have
some experience of working with individuals or groups in a
way which enhances personal development or promotes
learning, such as educators, health professionals, social
workers, and community workers.

- Live demonstrations of the method in action, and being part of a psychodrama session.
